OOPS!
-------
by Simon Plumbe, Andrew Wilk & Colin Gunn
-------------------------------------------
Oh well, Issue 1 wasn't exactly perfect, but there were a few things that
weren't supposed to have happened. A big apology must come from us for all of
these mistakes. What were they? Read on and find out.....
HISTORY OF THE FINAL FRONTIER
-----------------------------
If you read the credits and wondered where this articles was, well.... we
forgot to add it to the menu system! The file was on the disk, but it has
been extensively re-written it and it is on this issue (and this time you can
read it!).
POCKET BOOKS GUIDE / THE HUMAN ADVENTURE CONTINUES
--------------------------------------------------
We found a MAJOR flaw with these articles in the fact that they wouldn't
load!! We panicked quite a lot, found the problem (the Amiga tried to look
for files with the wrong names!) and we sent out a fixed version on 4th
October. If you can't load these files, you probably have the early version
so get it replaced as soon as you can.
The reason for this is simple - we didn't check it!!! Issue 1 was finished
at about 9:30 am on Saturday 28th September and the first copies were posted
out on Saturday 28th September at 10:30 am!!! We didn't even get the intro
finished until Thursday 26th Sept and the menu screens weren't completed
until Friday 27th Sept. Don't blame us!! However, this issue was tested
thoroughly for by our team of testers for 2 weeks before it was released.
READER'S CHARTS
---------------
Again, a flaw on the early version. The file itself loaded properly, but
because of a typographical error, the Amiga refused to get rid of the menu
screen so you couldn't read the article!! This was fixed for the corrected
version.
RICHARD ARNOLD AT SILVERCON
---------------------------
Nothing major here, there were just a few spelling mistakes, but when Richard
contacted us after reading a draft version of the article, he told us he
found a few mistakes but he said he wasn't bothered about them, so neither
are we!!
Hopefully that's the end of this article and it will never appear again!
(Probably) More next time!
